May/June 2015 47 Two Peaceseekers Celebrated The Presbyterian Peace Fellowship honored Evelyn Chumbow and Jill Bolander-Cohen as joint recipients of the 2015 Peaceseeker Award. Both women have made a significant impact in combatting human trafficking. Evelyn Chumbow is a speaker against trafficking and an activist with the National Survivor Network. She was lured to the United States by a recruiter promising education, but Evelyn was held as a slave, performing housework and child care for the recruiter. She escaped, pursued higher education and now raises awareness about the blight of human trafficking. Jill Bolander-Cohen is founder and executive director of Lifeboat Project, a Florida nonprofit that advocates on behalf of survivors of labor and sex trafficking. She is also the cofounder and vice president of the Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force. She is part of the Central Florida Presbytery Immigration Task Force and chair of justice and peace for PW in the Synod of the South Atlantic. Ordering Presbyterian Resources A number of denominational resources are now available through a new online store. The new PC(USA) Store, www.pcusastore.com, sells curriculum and select other denominational resources. The Church Store, com- monly called Presbyterian Distribution Service, still sells a majority of the denomination's resources (including Presbyterian Women's). When Horizons and other PW publications reference a resource, details on which store to use will be provided. • The Church Store/Presbyterian Distribution Service— www.pcusa.org/store or 800/524-2612 • The PC(USA) Store— www.pcusastore.com or 800/533-4371 Ann Yeargin Joins Cloud of Witnesses F ormer Horizons editor Ann Yeargin passed away on A pril 17, 2015. Apply to Join the 2 016 USA Mission Experience A group of Presbyterian women will travel to the San Francisco Bay Area in California in September 2016 for the USA Mission Experience. Participants will encounter challenges to God's promise of a beloved community and witness to the faithful work being done by our sisters in the San Francisco and San José presbyteries. The USA Mission Experience equips women with an understanding of the region's history and culture, the existing ministry of the church and the challenges faced by local women and children. On this trip, participants will • develop skills to advocate for immigrants and survivors of human trafficking; • learn about human trafficking, domestic violence and immigration issues; • identify resources women can use to help eliminate slavery and domestic violence; and • examine the myths and realities of immigration, and explore personal immigration stories.
