"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Your support o f Presbyterian Women affirms that y our heart (and treasure) are united in answering God's call to be Christ's witness to the world in the PW way. Did you know that your gifts to the Mission Pledge support PW locally (i.e., your circle), regionally (i.e., your presbytery and synod) and nationally? If you're not currently active in presbytery or synod groups, chances are you still feel the impact of those groups when women in your group bring back ideas for mission, expanded leadership skills or insights from a Bible study presentation. Your gift to the Mission Pledge shows your commitment to building a caring community of women locally and at all levels of our connectional church. The Mission Pledge is also an investment in PW's engagement with the larger world. Your Mission Pledge gift strengthens the structure and relationships that bring new issues, perspectives and needs to light for Presbyterian Women. The Mission Pledge helps fund many programs—such as PC(USA) world mission, Churchwide Gatherings, the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations, Global Exchanges and USA Mission Experiences. These min- istries and programs have helped Presbyterian Women understand education and health needs around the world, sisterhood, faith, the power of faith-based advocacy, human trafficking, and much more. The Mission Pledge helps us—singly and together—find our passion and call in a world groaning with tremen- dous need. There are lots of wonderful ways to give of ourselves and respond to the needs of the world. But let's face facts: If we don't prioritize support of the Mission Pledge, who will? If we don't give to the Mission Pledge, can Presbyterian Women continue to be a faithful witness to God's love in the world? Although the PC(USA) and PW's membership numbers may not be as robust as in decades past, our way of serving the world is unique and of consequence. Caring for ourselves by caring for our PW organization is a crucial step in caring for the world at large. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matt. 6:21). Carissa Herold is marketing associate for Presbyterian Women. May/June 2015 25 T here are many ways to sustain Presbyterian Women through the Mission Pledge. You can give through your circle.
