Bi ble study resour ce Exercise Showing mercy to others involves taking into account the needs around you. The movement of the LVPC congregation through what author Margaret Aymer identifies as the three elements of mercy (emotion, action and dedication) allowed our church to respond directly to needs within the community. Take a walk or drive around your church's neighborhood. Note what new homes, businesses, buildings and other structures have come into the area in the past year. Examine what things have changed and what has stayed the same. Look for the specific needs of your surrounding community.
